About Neem

Preparations & Dosage

Tea / Infusion: Boil water and pour over 1-2 teaspoons of dried neem leaves in a cup. Steep for 10-15 minutes, then strain and serve. Can be sweetened with honey if desired.
Tincture: Combine 1 part dried neem leaves with 5 parts alcohol (vodka or brandy) in a jar. Seal and let sit for 4-6 weeks, shaking occasionally. Strain and store in a dark bottle.
Oil (topical): Infuse neem leaves in a carrier oil (like coconut or olive oil) by heating gently for several hours. Strain and store in a dark bottle.

Dosage

Neem may interact with medications that affect blood clotting, such as anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs, potentially increasing the risk of bleeding. It should be avoided during pregnancy due to its potential to induce abortion and may also affect fertility. Individuals with liver disease or those taking liver-affecting medications should use neem with caution. Side effects at high doses can include nausea, diarrhea, and liver toxicity.
