About Agrimony

Preparations & Dosage

Preparations

Tea / Infusion: Boil water to 100°C (212°F). Add 1-2 teaspoons of dried agrimony herb to a cup. Pour the boiling water over the herb, cover, and steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain and serve. Optionally, sweeten with honey.
Tincture: Combine 1 part dried agrimony herb with 5 parts alcohol (vodka or brandy). Let it steep in a dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking occasionally. Strain and bottle.
Powder: Grind dried agrimony leaves and flowers into a fine powder using a mortar and pestle or grinder.

Interactions & Warnings

Agrimony may interact with anticoagulant medications, enhancing their effects and increasing the risk of bleeding. Caution is advised when combining agrimony with other herbs known for blood-thinning properties, such as garlic and ginkgo biloba. Individuals with bleeding disorders or those scheduled for surgery should avoid agrimony. Side effects are rare but may include gastrointestinal discomfort in some individuals at high doses.
