toxic part: everything, especially leaves and seeds

what happens: cardiac glycosides (digoxin source) cause heart arrhythmia, blurred vision (yellow-green halos around lights), nausea, then heart failure

timeline: symptoms in 30 min - 6 hours

antidote: Digibind, IV potassium, hospital monitoring

common mistake: foragers confusing leaves with comfrey (Symphytum officinale) — leaves look similar but foxglove is hairier and more pointed. multiple deaths from comfrey-foxglove confusion

emergency: poison control + ER

1-2 grams of dried leaf can be fatal. you can buy it in seed packets at any garden center. genuinely insane, knowing japanese knotweed is illegal to buy or even transport in any form, including seed. and japanese knotweed has so many benefits.
