looks like: dark purple/black shiny berries (look like blueberries), bell-shaped purple-brown flowers, oval leaves
where: woodland edges, abandoned gardens, sometimes ornamental
toxic part: all parts, berries most attractive to kids
what happens: atropine causes dilated pupils, hallucinations, rapid heart, then coma and death
timeline: symptoms within hours
common mistake: kids eating the sweet-tasting berries (yes, they actually taste decent which is why kids eat them)
antidote: physostigmine
emergency: poison control + ER
