In China, self-heal is used to treat cancer because of its antitumor properties.

Self-heal's cooling properties help heal the liver and macular damage that causes them to be swollen, red or painful.

It also can ease tension & headaches caused by vertigo, over-sensitivity to light and high blood pressure.

also used for Chron’s disease, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, gynecological disorders (female reproductive issues), HIV/AIDS, internal bleeding, mouth and throat ulcers.

All parts of the herb are edible, you can add its leaves to salads or other recipes.

sow in late fall, just below the surface of the soil.

for spring planting, mix the seeds with moist sand and store in the refrigerator for 30 days before planting. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which should occur within 2-3 weeks.
